Counting modes

  1. Swipe left any where on this screen to reach the app’s settings
  2. Choose the count mode
    1. Infinite: Allows for a beat to be tapped indefinitely
    2. Number: Stops counting a beat after ‘x’ number of taps
    3. Seconds: Stops counting a beat after ‘x’ number of seconds
  3. Tap to set the number of taps/seconds that you wish to average a bpm over i.e. number that the app will stop counting taps as per setting for (2)
  4. Resets beat counter ready for new count
  5. Tap this area to register a count. Animated graphic depends on mode selected

Results

  1. Swipe left any where on this screen to reach the app’s settings
  2. Average BPM. Calculated from number of beats (taps) over the current time period
  3. Beat-by-beat details showing the total number of beats (taps), seconds elapsed from first to last beat and momentary bpm (i.e. bpm for last beat)
  4. (Optional) Show frequency (Hz) and wavelength (m) of last beat
  5. (Optional) Displays current tempo of beat

Settings

  1. Swipe left/right any where on this screen to reach the counter/about screen
  2. Check to allow phone vibration in response to a beat (tap)
  3. Select mode for app. ‘Heart’ or ‘Audio’. Heart shows ECG animation where as audio shows a wave animation and by default shows wave details and tempo
  4. Check to show wave details (beat-by-beat)
  5. Select the medium that the wave is travelling through (this alters the velocity automatically). Temperature is only available for ‘air’
  6. Displays wave velocity used to calculate wave details (freq. and wavelength)
  7. Select to show the current tempo for the average bpm
